hey guys, well ever since i bought the car the light in the under panel and rear view mirror light keeps flickering. I know that if i disconnect the wire it will stop but i want to fix it not disable it. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

the problem is on my passenger side door, but i don't know what could make it flicker. most of the time the light is on and when i do like a turn on the road or over a bump it would flicker.

Sounds like you might have a short.Try and check the wires leading up to the lights and see if theres any wires hanging out and grounding themselves on metal.

Because your door is not pressing this switch hard enough. Check out this write up. zerothread?id=283265

Check out the link 94_240sx gave you. It's the plastic piece mentioned in there. You can get one of similar sizing @ Home Depot/Lowes - just cut it, install it, and you are good to go.

Mine does this to. I adjusted the door and it closes a little tighter. But I'm gonna go buy some of these nylon sleeves for it.

i am actually in the process of installing these nylon sleeves I've had sitting in my glovebox for a few months.

I am hoping it will fix this problem as well, which it should.

Mine used to do the same thing...when I would hit a bump my lights would flicker on. So I used the write up that 94_240sx did and got some Nylon Spacers from Lowe's and it fixed it. The spacers are 1/2 x .375 x 5/8. I only had to replace my passenger side but I adjusted both doors. Here is a pic of the spacers I bought:

Cost about a buck. But I did mine about a year ago so they may cost a little more now.

I went to home depot and bought like 4 packs they had 2 in them each it rang up to 3 dollars or so. If you get them in home depot they are in the hardware section inside of the drawers. Near the screws etc. It took me 20 minutes to locate them and another 10 to sort through the sizes to find the right ones since they don't sort them when they put them on the shelf............

I had this problem too and my switch was bad. I went to Nissan and bought a whole new Strike bar and new switch. Yeah, it costs a little more, but no more problems.

Putting new parts on an old car is defeating the purpose of my redneck mechanics

I have/had the same problem.. thing i did was just super glued the rubber piece back after i stuck some paper in it to keep it pushed out as far as possible.
