hello i am doing a swap for a friend and he wanted to go the automatic route.. the motor didnt come with a flexplate (flywheel) and we was wondering if we could use one off of a another nissan?? and if yes which one??its a redtop sr.. thank you

Hmm...not sure. There might be FWD SR flexplate from the Sentra that could work. you could e-mail a FWD-SR mod. If they don't know, you might be able to try one and let the rest of us know if it works. Or, you could contact a sponsor and see if they have any non-turbo, automatic RWD SR's laying around with a flexplate.

Call Jeff at HeavyThrottle. If anyone knows, he should. I'm pretty certain that the FWD flexplate won't work as the FWD sentras have an itsy bitsy clutch/flywheel compared to us. So it would be safe to assume the same for the flexplate.

I'm thinking your best bet would be a Maxima flexplate, but my guess to that is akin to a stab in the dark. I'm only basing that off the clutch discs being interchangable.

The biggestissue is making sure that whatever you get meshes with the starter properly. That's why manual guys need to have a RWD SR flywheel. It boils down to the starter interaction.

Anyways, just some food for thought.

If it did not come with a flywheel, does that mean it didn't come with a transmission also?
