If you mean the U-joints, they're staked and not c-clipped. Not a simple process, so be prepared. This is a pretty good vid series performed on a 2010 shaft:

No no lol the flex joint on the exhaust under the oil pan haha. I know the whole section of pipe can be bought as one assembly but I have the ability to weld so I was going to chop and replace it.

Lol, flex pipe would have been more descript. :lolling:

Dunno the diameter, but make sure the replacement inner section is corrugated, it really does need to flex!

Ok thanks, so im assuming all the "sport" programming is in the tcu itself which would explain why the sport button isn't responding.

Yep, I'm sure that's a firmware function. If the wiring is there then a TCM repro should fix it. Reprogramming doesn't affect the IP Char values stored for the tranny, so the dealership just needs to program it as if it's a new blank unit using the correct ROM ID from the parts catalog. Then your Sport Mode should work again.

so i shouldnt have to drop the pan to get the rom numbers on the valve body? Not familiar with what ip char values is. i'd assume when the reprogram they would clear the deterioration value for the cvt fluid. The reprogram process does that involve dropping the vehicle for the day or is it a pretty simple process with the consult 3. Sorry for all the questions lol.

It's pretty simple with the C3+, about 10 minutes once you get it hooked up and ready. The repro only changes the program flash, it leaves the storage flash (deterioration and IP Chars) alone. IP Chars are the solenoid data the TCM uses to run the tranny, they tell the TCM how much current is needed to crack each of the solenoids. That's why you can't just swap used TCM's around with impunity. The IP's for the old and new units probably won't match, and while the tranny may function that way, chances are it won't behave well.
