i want to run the cxracing kit and i was wondering if i could couple the intercooler piping to the stock tb with something like this

and the reason i want to do this instead of a new intake manifold is the obvious reason pricing

Wait...what? You don't need a new intake mani just to connect IC piping. If you get the CX Racing kit (which I don't recommend btw) then it should come with intercooler piping.

Don't use that stuff, I'm sure it won't be very boost friendly. Besides, ebay intercoolers usually come with piping and are only like 200 bucks.

I'm pretty sure that flex pipe would bust under load... besides I don't think it would seal well enough to maintain a tune.

Note: The pic you're looking at is a carb vehicle... doesn't use tuning like us.

That type of tubing only works under vacuum conditions. It's actually used quite often for cold air redirecting and things of that nature. But it can't be used for anything pressurized.

The only type of flex tubing that will work for boost is either rubber, like the factory uses on turbo cars or flex pvc. But I've never seen the pvc come in anything larger then 2", which would work I suppose. Just not something I'd do unless I owned a intercooler of some type already and was operating on basically no budget.

If that's the case we can walk through all kinds of viable options that are cheap and functional.
