the electric fan replacement is usually done so that the parasitic nature of the belt driven fan is lost, freeing some HP.
Elect. fans are usually mounted onto the surface of the rad., thus eliminating the need for the stock shroud, since it's purpose is to funnel the air to the mechanical fan that is farther back than the elect. set up.
Don't know about the Koyo rad.
