Hey, question, i have searched...
i bought fal 210's begining of aug, first thing that happens 1 week after install, the fuse that fal gives you blows (mind you the wiring is right I have checked it at least 5 times, and had a the owner and his son, go over the wiring which they have installed on two other cars with no problems), the car was then out of commision for 2 months, I then get the car back drive it for 3 months before it is out of commision for another 3 months, get the car back and 2 months later the fuse gets fried(10amp), ok maybe fuse is too small(15amp) it blows, multiple times an observation I have made is that they only seem to blow when I participate in hard driving aka drifting. then one day i decide i will put a 20 amp fuse in, it doesnt pop but the thermo box's spade fries off, i don't remeber wat it goes to at this moment, i think straight to the battery, so i call jegs and get it replaced, at this point in time im like 3 days after my year warranty but they help me out anyway, i get the box, hook it back up and i go out for some spirited driving and the spade fries off again...i have been driving without fans for the past 2 or 3 months(don't have time to fix) i finally do now, hence the post. I call up FAL and they tell me a motor or both, is probably drawing to much amps and to have them tested (they told me they should pull 30amps or 20 together or 15 or 10 seperate( i can't remeber, gotta call them again), then i can buy some new ones IF they are bad. the only places i know that could even test for that high of amperage is electric shops and they probably charge 70$/hr...im just lookin for some suggestions!
all in all, for about 10 months of driving i have gone through a melted fuse that fal gives you for their fans, a melted add a fuse that i bought(when this melted, the car almost caught on fire, good thing i was around when it started smoking...my rb s14 woulda been garbage...), a 10amp fuse, 6 or 7 15amp fuses, and 2 spades have been seared off from heat. should i do what fal said or what? i read that 2 or 3 other ppl have had a similar problem with popping fuses but nobody, with the spades beeing seared off...
