Can you flat tow a 85 300ZX--manual 5 speed behind a rv? if so, any recommendations on base plates, etc..
the other option may be a dolly--would you have to put rear tire up on dolly? Looking for suggestions--Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.

If it's a manual transmission, I believe you just pop it into neutral and haul away with no worries... but I'll let someone who has actually towed this vehicle chime in.

Most manuals can be dragged flat, but it's always good to check. Now, I don't know where we might keep Owners Manuals around here, but I did find one out there on the internet for your 1985 300zx. It discusses being towed on Page 6-2. It reminds us to be in conformance with local laws in addition to the owners manual. It says the towing on all fours is only for short distance at low speeds (below 50 MPH), otherwise, get a dolly or plan to remove and install your drive shaft for trips greater than 50miles. Here's a link to that:

Thanks, I did read 6.2 in the manual (I still have )--was hoping someone may have flat towed a Z31. I wonder if placing the rear wheels on a
dolly would eliminate need to disconnect the drive shaft?
I am second owner of the Z31, purchased it with just 10K miles. Mileage now is 118K, but before starting minor rebuild wanted to make sure we could use as a toad for the rv.

Thanks for the reply, I will continue to search for options.
