Long story short, two lane road, south bound and a north bound. Speed limit 55mph, long line of traffic in the opposite lane when some idiot from aaaaaall the way from the back tries to pass everyone. Locked up tires and slid to about 5 feet nose to nose, him in my lane. Mother ****ing, peice ****!!!!

I would've dragged his *** out of the car and beat him to a bloody pulp had my heart not droped to my stomach.

So I got this flat spot now on one tire in the front. Pretty good one too. Had about 80% tread before, now Im done to about 40% in that one spot.

Question: Are there and adverse effects of still rolling on this tire, other that I sound like a helicopter going down the road?

What tire is it? Thats pretty rapid wear for a lock from 55 (assuming you were going ~55). Anyway, the bearings on that hub are going to take some abuse from the inbalance. You might want to have that checked out if it really worries you.

Yeah, I'm about fed up with it. I just got my wheels aligned and everything would be butter except I sound like I have a flat.

The same thing happened to me. I was going about 65. flat spots on 3 of my 4 tires. I replaced two of them immediately, but couldn't afford to replace the 3rd for about a month. It is replaced now. My ride was really bumpy because of it, but now it continues to ride wierd even though the tires have been replaced. Not to thread jack, but would this be the bearings? Some thing like this happened to my mom's civic and it was the CV joint. It "lopes" when accelerating and decelerating. When going slowly you can feel a small "bump" as you pass some point on the left, and then the same feeling on the right. Is it just the bearings most likely? Thanks!

Yeah, well f*** that. I'm just going to buy a new tire this afternoon. I hope it didn't **** up my bearing, I have been rolling on it just under a week now.

Bearings are about 50 buck a peice. Not too bad...pisses me off just thinking about it.

That is why I am all about grip these days. You put new tires on, on a daily driven car, you better don't lock them.

We have long 2 lane roads here. When passing someone you speed up to 80-90mph. And that car from too far, approaches very fast at another 60-70 mph.

Just imagine the rush.
