Going to need a paint job myself sometime in the near future. A friend of mine has a WRX thats like flat black but almost wet/sticky looking. Looks sick on his WRX but not sure about a Q. I thought about chamelion but thats like turning a $2k job into $4k just supplying the paint...

Look into satin paints. You get the same non-shiny look as flat, but without the rattle-can look. Satin still has some reflectivity to it, but it is textured so there's no shininess. It looks a lot better when lit than flat black does, as the car's lines and details don't get lost in the dull.

That Satin paint looks quite ominous and downright menacing, I love it and yes, the flat black doesn't offer the definition required to separate the panels. I will likely go with a paint job like that when the Titan is due, very cool indeed.

While flying cross country, I stopped over night in Charleston WV. Parked on the ramp was a transient helicopter. It was the proverbial "Black Helicopter" that UFOlogists talk about.

After making arrangements for refueling and parking for the night, I went back out on the ramp to take a closer look. It was an Army Signal Corps copter and was truely black on black. The only way I could make out the insignia was by looking from the side and observing that body was satin black and the insignia was flat black.

The combination was both quite subtle and quite stunning. Imagine a satin black Q with flat black stripes or flames.
