i was wondering if anyone has used flashoptions to buy a CA18 motor. They advertise for like 1000. I am just starting my search for a good motor....I know they don't have a great reputation with SR motors but i wondered if it was different. Are there any shops that sell alot of CA's. Maybe equivalents of Heavy Throttle and Phase2 for Sr's...Thanks very much

They have a bad rep here. I think there is at least 3 ppl who got burned by them. Do a search on them and look it up. Email the pple who tired to buy from them and ask them about their experience.

I think i might risk it and go with flahoptions. They are offering me a real good deal...I am asking them alot of questions first though...like is the motor in the US/ compression checks...etcIf it all checks out, i will give them a shot. I mean, i already have an sr240...and this will just be a sideproject. For the price offered i think i can easily afford to rebuild the motor if needed.

If i do deal with them, i will be sure to document everything and keep everyone on NICO posted.

Well, you get what you pay for, I hope you end up better off than the last few guys who bought from or through them.

If/When you buy from them tell them you are from NICO,as they are trying to improve their rep here.

i ordered mine, what? 6 months ago? still have yet to receive it. they keep telling me that some place in montreal has it, but yet, every time i get ahold of those guys in canada(and let me tell you its a RARE occasion) they tell me they dont have it. if you buy a motor from flashoptions, you might as well give your money to me. at least ill put it to good use.

Haha, ok, Thanks. I did a little research and i found that i don't want to deal with them. It seems like a hassle. O well, they offered me a good deal too.

yeah I almost bought an SR motorset from flash options last year (because they had such a good price) but I did some homework and found out that they are really, really bad.I hate to say it but with every importer, it sounds like if you buy your engine from someplace within driving distance you get a good motor (cause you don't get it if its not) and if you order one from across the country you are more likely to be dissatisfied with the experience.I'm not sure if thats because they know you aren't gonna pay to ship it back to return it so they give you a beater, or cause the truck companies beat the **** out of it, or what, but I am thinking more and more that a local place might be the best way to go.
