Flashing your high beams could get you killed??

has anyone else heard of this dumb story/rumor?

it's been going around in emails, and recently i've heard it from my brother who was in traffic school.

police have been warning people to not flash their high beams at cars whose headlights aren't on at night. supposedly this is a new gang initiation gimmick, where they drive around w/o their headlights on, and the first person to high beam them, they chase em around firing bullets into the car.

now when i saw the email i thought it was a buncha BS, but then my brother comes home telling me about it hearing it in his traffic school, anyone know if there's any truth to this?

haha, I heard that back in like Elementary school and it's surfaced a few times since then. It's BS.

Yep - I'm OLD and that was being discussed before I was even driving.

Haven't had a lowrider Monte Carlo outrun me yet. Until bangers start driving 160mph luxury cars, I'm not concerned.

very old urban legend. In fact so well known that it was featured in the cheesy horror movie Urban Legend The Clearasil girl was crazy, who knew?I don't think any gangbangers want to mess with the Mad one anyway, I'm not the one:mad:

^--- I wish the gangsters around here drove in nice vehicles. That way when they get caught and have the vehicle repo'd by the feddies, I can pick them up dirt cheap at government auctions.

OLDSCHOOL ubran legend. I think I have that one bookmarked in my Urban Legend Collection. If there's no sourse (eastside whatevers of L.A., as reported by department blablabla) it's one of those. Especially if it's a friend of a friend it happened to. Hey, have you ever heard that one about.... lol

The girl in question is actually Rebecca Gayheart, she was famous for her Noxzema, not Clearasil, ads in the early 90's. Oddly enough, this is a sad example of life imitating art because in 2002 she ran over and killed a 9-year old boy in L.A. Weeks after that, she totalled her rental car in a Hollywood parking lot, how, I don't know. So if you're in L.A., it would be wise not to highbeam crazed acne cream pitchmen or is that pitchwomen?

Stay away from LA. The big ballers have Benz's and BMW's. Of course, those are the coke dealers who aren't going to waste their time shooting at you. The crazy guys with the guns are still driving Buicks. =)

if i were to get caught by some beat to crap lowrider cadillac with underdriven 13" rims then i need to be shot. unless i am really low on gas then im just screwed; however, its just a urban legend.

it may be an urban legend, but the lady and i were out on the 22nd of Dec and we saw 3-4 morons driving around without their lights on. i know the legend has no proof, but there are still idiots out there. oh, and not only were they driving with out headlights, they didnt even have their driving lights on, so you couldnt see them at all.

This is stupid. If someone is dumb enough to have their lights off and it on some backwoods then just let em crash. I can see if it just rained an you have bright street lights. It probably got started by cops trying to get people to stop warning other drivers of cops up the road.
