Flashing turnsignals when alarm is activated on Maxima 96?

I own a Maxima 96-mod. What bugs me is that when I activate or deactivate the alarm using my remote control, the turnsignals don't flash like on other cars. I guess this is not an error with my car, but the way it's supposed to be on this model. But is there a way to "fix" this? I've asked my local dealer and they said they couldn't help me with that. SO maybe it can't be done?

you have a 96 max with a 2.0? where do you live? anyways check the owners manual and it should have diferent options for what the car does when the alarm is armed. if there's nothing about it in the manual...they won't flash.

Yes it's a 96 Maxima with 2.0. I live in Norway. Haven't checked the manual, but I will.

It's a big minus if you ask me. If you want to lock your car from a distance, and you can't be sure if it locks properly when there's no signal to indicate it other than the sound of the locks - which you can't hear from a distance.

Norway...what i miss from Europe is WRC racing because they don't broadcast it here

I'd prefer turnsignals as indication, but a horn beep works

My manual looks like it's "Maxima for dummies". Doesn't say anything about advanced features. Is there some place online I could find a more advanced and thorough user manual in i.e. PDF?
