So I pulled over at a gas station and checked the the tire pressure on all four. All of the tires, except one, were fine (front were at about 36 psi and the rear driver side tire read 38 psi). The passenger side rear tire read to 24.5 psi, so I filled it up to match that of the other rear tire.... As you have guessed, the issue with the light hasn't gone away yet...
Any thoughts?
I also checked the tire for a nail or any kind of puncture of some sort and found nothing.
Thanks in advance!
The warning light will go out within 100 or 200 mi or perhaps sooner if you make short trips because each time you start the vehicle the ECU does a check and will eventually turn off the TPMS light.
I have to wonder why the pressure in the one tire had 24 lbs?You should probably drive to a tire shop remove the rear wheel and place the tire in water to check for a slow leak. If there is nothing in the tire they may have to remove and reseal it around the rim. Have you hit any pot holes lately?
If you don't have a good quality tire pressure gauge you should probably get one.I never trust gas station gauges. Tire pressure should be checked first thing in the morning when tires are cold prior to driving the vehicle.
