I've got a friend with exactly that same problem. How'd you fix it? Please do tell!

I'm not sure what caused the two lights to blink and the seat and tilt to stop working but this two minute procedure fixed it:

Disconnect the battery cables for ten minutes, reconnect, then follow these steps:1. Open the driver front door2. Turn the key to the Run position (all the instrument cluster lights on, but engine not running)3. Turn the key all the way back off, but don't remove it4. Close the door5. Wait about 1 minute (no less)6. Open the door. Your seat should slide back, the steering wheel should tilt up, and the memory function should work.

Remind your friend that you just saved him or her about $100 with these instructions versus taking it to a shop. Why haven't you recruited him to NICO?

Thanks! He is a NICO member, but too busy to surf the net right now I think. BTW if you come to Bama again, me, you and Jeff should all get together.

I'll let you know if this works.

It's me, back from the world of Corvettes.

This will get your seat back working, but it is only a temporary fix.

What is happening, is the LAN module in the driver's door is loosing communications with the BSM module. This procedulre restores the communications, but whatever caused it to be lost in the first place is still out there, and will return. In my case, I believe it is corrosion in the wires. I have been able to prolong the failure for a few weeks by wiggling the wires on the LAN module. I can unplug the modules without removing the door panel. by removing the arm rest, the seat control panel and the 3 screws that hold the panel to the door. Then I pull the panel loose, and I can then get to the module connections. If I unplug the wires and tug on the connectors, then re-connect them, it lasts for a few weeks before it acts up again. I have used contact cleaner on everything, but it does not help. I think I need to replace the connectors, but have not gone through the trouble. I have replaced both the LAN module and the door control unit a couple times, so I beleive it is in the wiring harness.

Thanks for the information!

all I do is with the drivers door open, put the key in the ignition and press the door switch on the drivers door a couple times.

If the lights are blinking, unplug the battery for a little bit then do the above procedure.
