Flashing Overdriveoff light on '90 ATX

Ok I've hit a snag. Yesterday the Overdrive off light on my dash started to flash when I got ready to start my car. It has never done this before. I turned the key off/on a few times to make sure it wasn't just some comp. glitch. It persisted to flash with each ket cycle. Also it flashes different each time it happens. Sometimes 1 flash, then I've counted up to 6 flashes. This one's got me stumped. Anybody got any ideas here? H E L P PLZZZZZZ.:confused:
