Flashing cruise control

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anyone had an issue with trying to set the cruise? Mine flashes when initially pushed. Holding the button down longer engages "dumb" cruise but I can't set ICC. This happened for a day then started working again. After a few days, the trouble is back It doesn't matter if the car is clean or not. Thought dirt on the screen might be an issue.

If the sun or anything that directly handicaps the system from monitoring the vehicles in front of you the system disables and blink to warn you have to turn it off and turn it back on to reset it but as long as the factor is in place the system will disable everytime until the object is no longer a factor. While driving home from work the sun is directly in front of the vehicle and my system disables everytime while driving. So it's not the car its factors around the car

Welcome to the premier EX forum on the Internet, tquarles and thanks for chiming in!!

Basically kamiguy, any time ICC "decides" it can't operate normally, it will flash.

Other things that prevent ICC from working include:- if you're already too close to another vehicle- if the wipers are ON (other than on the intermittent setting)- if VDC is turned off- if VDC is intervening (e.g. due to tire slippage)- if the SNOW Mode switch is turned on

Now, that's not to say you don't have something that needs servicing ... these are just some conditions under which ICC can legitimately refuse to turn on. Once you convince yourself none of these apply, it's time to turn the problem over to your friendly Infiniti dealer!

Did you check the ICC sensor in front of the vehicle? Is it clean?

Thanks, DH and all.. Had snow mode on trying to determine if the "steering vibration" is affected by it's operation, as per Steve's instructions
