i now have the same problem my friend has a 89 240 hatch with a dual cam swapped in it. i have a 91 240sx and my ecu kept blowing my #2 injector out. so i went to his house and he let me used his ecu and when i put it in it shows a check engine light sometimes while driving it. so come to find out when the motor was swapped in my friends car the ecu was never changed out so i'm pretty sure its the single cam ecu causing the check engine light.

reviving the old post to clear up the problem. i figured it out and wings is right. if you fiddle with the egr (or take it out completely )then it fires up the flashing light no performance loss tho just annoying. if you look at the 180sx cluster its not a check engine light its a muffler lol. hope this helps anyone who has this dilemma.
