I looked that up and it says that it is the ; LH side airbag (satellite) sensor ...it is located next to sill on the driver's side.It is between the sill and the seat , under the carpet.
I removed the sill plastic , I lifted the carpet and there it was , there was lots of white powder around it . I cleaned everything and gave it a jiggle. I removed the connection and plugged it back like another poster suggested to do.
My dilemma now is that the dealer told me that he cannot verify if my old part would be defective or not if it is not on the vehicle.I really don't want t bring it in to the dealer to have them do a diagnostic that would cost more than the value of my pathfinder.
I have a picture of the part but do not know how to post on this site , I can email it to someone who would like to help.
Can anyone give me some advice as in if they have changed this part , or have solved this same problem another way.I also would like to be pointed in the right direction as to where I can purchase this part (which I do not have a part number for)...the parts guy at Nissan was annoyed by me not wanting to purchase the part right then .I followed the instruction from this site to erase the flashing icon but it doesn't work ... the icon flashes with the sequence of 2 long flashes and 4 short flashes over and over even when driving the truck.
I really don't want to buy this part and find out that it wasn't the problem and then not be able to return it
My mechanic told me to just leave it alone because the air bags will work anyway in case I need them in a crash.
