Flash drive for music & navigation radio

Searched and searched on here, but I can't seem to find an answer, so I guess I'll post my situation...

When I am driving and listening to music from a flash drive in the USB slot, all is fine and dandy. BUT, when I get where I'm going and shut off the car for any length of time (leaving the drive in the slot), and then get back in and start up to go elsewhere, the radio goes through the whole process of indexing the drive again, and starts playing the music from the first song on the drive. It is annoying to go back to what I want to listen each time I start the car.

Seems to me that it should pick up from where it left off, shouldn't it? I mean, the low end Civic I had for awhile did, so I thought this would as well.

For reference's sake, I have a 2015 SL.

I have a 2015 SL AWD and it does the same thing with my iPhone, it does the index thing everytime. When I turn off the car and unplug my phone and leave for a short time then get back in it will sometimes start off where it left playing. Other times it will start at the first song in my library or it will start with a ramdom song. The indexing is normal I found out but the random song thing I have learned to live with.

Found out that if I "Browse By Folder" instead of artist, sing, etc...it picks up right where it left off.

Still indexes each time I start up, by that is just a minor thing now that I figured out the above.

My 2012 rogue picks up music where it left off and does not re index the drive every startup.
