So today I took the old 240 up to the dyno this morning. Im up here in MA visiting so i get to drive it. Anyway. Dyno was good 327whp and 318wtq at 15psi and 352whp 324wtq at 20psi on ported home built T28. (GTIR HOUSINGS as listed below)

Well on the way home, im stting at a light and look on my arm, and i see a snowflake... i shrugged it off, its new england, **** happens... 5 minutes later i find myself pulling into my dads driveway and parking the car to take pictures cause its snowing lol Was pretty cool to be the first to drive the SR 240 i built in the snow haha pretty interesting too. Heres a picture, hard to make out hte snow but enjoy hahah

Gotta love cold weather to help with the dyno numbers.Cool pic! Looks like rain? Did it melt before hitting the ground?

i dunno how much it helped the dyno numbers seeing as it was in a heated shop lol but im sure it didnt hurt anything.. room temp was 70 deg at time of the dyno runs... ANYWAY yeah it was a wet snow, i tookt he pictures when it had just started.... my camera sucks so yeah it looks like rain, BUT rain doesnt get picked up on this camera... so its DEFINITELY snow what you see

So I decided to finally put on the timing chain kit i had bought months ago and started replacing a few parts as u can tell below some of the wear of the old upper tensioner compared to the new one next to it.

this is the top half when istarted taking it all apart

By removing the upper tension guide u eliminate the rattling can sound because its the upper tension guide that keeps hitting the upper timing chain as its spinning smacking at the tension guide.

the timing chain is not completely stretched out and tends to jump in the middle hitting the upper tension guide...U can remove that guide and it will not hurt the engine in any way...even nissan mentioned that it can be eliminated without any side effects.

Right now im working on replacing the lower timing chain as well along with the lower tensioner, tension guides etc. but in order to take out the lower timing sprocket i need to literally move the throttle body t get to some screws that are holding it..remove the oil pan completely!..and just about half the car just to get to that frikkin lower timing chain and its become more of a headache then anything else.

needless to say my car is out of commision for the time being

I did both tensioners, oil change, and front main seal this weekend! That's funny. Hope you have an engine hoist. My engine sounds so quiet now. This coming weekend is valve seals and a flush. I just wanna make sure I get eveything outta the engine that may have gotten mixed w/ the oil when I took the front cover and pan off. I was gonna go w/ the E pistons I have laying around but I didn't have enough time. I was getting the stuff I needed at Advanced and ran into some of the people on this forum. I'm still new here so I can't remember names. Sorry guys! Let me know who u are on here so I can look dumb.

that was me and yadin u ran into that day...we were working on yadins car at the time but the day after taht i started on mine.

man i have to take apart half the car just to get to that ONE F-ing piece...i cannot rmove the lower timing sprocket because a part of it is hiding inside the oil pan and for me to remove the oil pan i have to take out the engine mounts and list the engine up with a hoist so it dont drop on my face just to take out the oil pan.....

this might be a while lol.
