Has anyone really heard of this engine cuz nobody really talks about it. I have been trying to research it and can only find limited sources. Anyone have any info on this beast of a motor? ha

try searching for "fj20et". also, it's a non-us engine, so there won't be too much info coming from the us.

The FJ20ET is legendary.FJ20DET ive never heard of so...im also in the dark about that.

In SADC(where i am right now) we have a plethora of FJ powered Skylines, Silvias and whats known as the Sunny pickup but we call a Champ, and they deck, they deck hard.

P.S does this really have anything to do with S13-5s Or is this just a general engine question, cuz i think this thread could/should be moved to Gen Chat

P.P.S In case you dont know what a Nissan Champ is here it is:

Very light and as carefree as a 510 when it comes to engines, so people have put a lot of strange engines in them.Toyota and Mazda powered ones are considered quite meek.

yeah just general discussion i guess. Thought more people would know what they were talkin bout in here as opposed to a general chat. But thanks for the info. This motor has always interested me just by looking at the few things ive seen.

i was too hasty in my reply. it is a dohc, but it's not called FJ20DET. apparently it was designed and produced before nissan started using "D" to designate dohc.

Yeah, my dads office used to use them for deliveries but now they are retiring them for bigger cars, so i might pick one up later.

They are really fun cars to drive below 120mph, as soon as you hit 120 the feeling of riding a matchbox becomes really unnerving....they are light as a feather.

Literally 3 guys can tow one of these to the shop and back.

Well it does say DOHC on the head so its assumed to be Dual overhead....its just that no one ever calls them FJ20DET so when the OP said DET i thought maybe Nissan did a revision of the engine.....but my googling has led me to no evidence of such a thing, so ET for life.

Itll be pretty hard in the US, i dont think many people export FJs from anywhere because they are such bulletproof engines.Id search Australia maybe youll get lucky.

Id say ill find you one here, but if i find a mint FJ20 powered anything, im keeping it for myself....sorry.
