Ahhh so here we go again. I decided I'm going to be building this car back up, bigger and better than it was before. Before all that mess happened that made me sell parts, I made a deal to buy this turbo- and it finally arrived today.

Precision GT3071R .63 A/R, 56 trim

I have a question though. I bought this used (never used, but from a forum person) for a deal, and Im still not entirely sure what I've got here. In the 2nd pic you can see an extra threaded hole on the shaft. There is another one on the opposite side. These are NOT oil holes, the turbo has oil ports in addition to these. Are these for water cooling? I didnt know this turbo was water cooled till I saw these ports...

Anyways, this is the first step in my rebuild- which is going to be pretty badass. Looking for 500 rwhp out of a fully built motor with the AEM EMS and methanol (again). Its going to take a loooong time to get the money together for the project, but its in the works!

yes have to be for water cooling. the R means ball bearing. ball bearing turbos are watercooled

Sorry fiz, I couldnt resist..lol searchin active topics and caught your thread.

Was meanin to comment on your turbo and slipped out with only a joke.

That turbo looks alot like the one my neighbor was supposedly going to give me. It was deemed to be a garret t3 super turbo. Except the one he had did not have the thin plate bolted to the side of the housing yours has.
