ok y'all remember that I blew my old motor up, well got the new one running, but that is all it doesstart and idle, really erattic. When I hit the gas it only bogs down then dies. when I covered up the maf it revved to 2500 then went back down to 1200. It will stay pretty steady at 1200 tho. I got it running and was excited but now I need to get it running good! PLease help. I read thru the fsm and many posts on here. I am thinking thaat timing AND vac is off, I just wanted some outside advice.

Get it to idle at 700ish (by taking away intake air at the IACV hose or by some other means) and check that timing- is it steady? How many degrees are you running?

If you pinch off the IACV hose and the motor still idles, then you have a vaccum leak somewhere. Pretty easy way to find out if this is your problem or not.

Sounds like you got the fuel lines mixed up, make sure you have the return line hooked up to the line with the fuel regulator. Hey you never know.......
