hey guys I'm finally getting around to fixing the timing chain. It only took me till my head gasket went out to get off my butt to fix it. I have a couple questions. First, do I have to replace the oil seals in the head? and second, how long does it usually take for a fairly expirienced mechanic? thanks guys

what seals in the head would you be replacing? valve guide? that's the only thing I can think of.

I think the shop quote is like 8 or 9 hours or something. I could see you pulling it off in like 4 if you're good

SOHC timing chains should not take long to do. Did one last night in a time 2 hours and 10 minutes. If you're doing the timing chain, there are two oil seals that must be replaced behind the front cover. Also there's the crank seal that is in the front cover and that should be it for oil seals for your timing chain job.
