I have a 2003 Infinity G35 and want to get started on fixing the CD player myself. I could open the cover for the gear shifter but was unable to do anything about the cover for the Stock CD player.

I am completely new to this car but can fidget around to figure basic things. Thats how i could fix the storage between the gear shifter and the middle storage.

Anyways so Any pictures as to how to get the stock CD player out and even if needed replacing it with a better one would help.

I am also looking to get the i-pod integrated with this. I tried searching a bit but couldnt find any posting with details of how can one open up the dash to remove the player.

Also if there is a way to fix the CD player "CD Error FO" that i get without opening it that would be great.

I am an absolute newbie to this forum so you guys might dis me for reposting but I really want to know how to get this done.

Thanks a lot for looking

I have the same problem. I'm not exactly sure how to take out the in-dash player, but I do know that if you replace the CD player, you'll need to order an entirely new dash piece from infiniti so you can fit a different cd player, and last I heard that cost $400. So definitely try to fix it first, I'll do some research and let you know if I find anything.

you cannot fix the audio unit yourself...and a new one is close to 2g's if you are not under warranty. i recommend goin aftermarket with like best buy or something. you have to take out the glove box and driver knee panel to get anywhere near the audio unit

I saw the dash kits on e-bay for around $200 if you go aftermarket.

It appears that this kit is supplied to installer.com by Metra model 99-7604 I'm sure you can order one from any metra parts dealer. I don't know about the cost. $200 seems pretty steep, even the kits for the 2003 and up honda accord that replaced the whole factory insert that housed the radio weren't that expensive.
