Coilovers are springs and dampers all in one package. The ARE the struts and springs if you will. If you use lowering springs, stock struts can be used, but only if they are still good, and only if the springs are stock spring rates. If you go with stiffer springs, you should buy aftermarket shocks.KW521 wrote:Im doing the suspesion on my s13 cause its 15 years old. I was wondering if i do coilovers do i have to replace the srtuts and bushings? And if i decide to do lowering springs do i also need to replace shocks and struts?
