It is the collective impression of most that know my car that my problem is likely the result of bad coil packs.

Not knowing much about cars, I am learning many things the hard way through trial and error-mostly error!

I came across an article someone wrote about fixing cracked coil packs in a VW with epoxy, and I was wondering, being that it is such a prominent problem on RBs, if anyone in here has had any success.

I also heard some people use ones off of a Chrysler 300?

I will likely buy some Splitfires, or some other ones that are supposedly good, but in the meantime is there anything I can do to get me by???

I've received a lot of good advice in here and met lots of helpful people. You know who you are, THANK YOU!!!

Are you saying that you have used clear nail polish and have had success?

Did you use a resistance meter, or just visually inspect for cracks and repair?

never tried it before on coilpacks, but for gluing plastic airplane models and stuff.. hobby shops/arts&craft shops usually have these small square jars with a paintbrush on the bottom of the lid. it's some sort of liquid plastic glue that works pretty well on my old model rockets! probably similar to clear nail polish, and the application is more precise than some wad of epoxy or super glue

A lot of people seem to think the 2jz-gte is the best engine ever made...Sometimes makes me wonder if I shouldn't have gotten one of those? Well, the reason I got the car I have now is because the swap was already done.

Question: If the car idles smooth, and runs good at really high rpm, do you think it could still be coil packs? When the one for the 6th cylinder was bad the car ran horrible.

I will say this: I'm getting really bad gas mileage right now, and the is a strong gas smell in the car all the time now.
