I've seen a couple of post on people having problems with their cell phone via bluetooth to their infiniti. Figure I offer my experience.

I have an 2008 M35. I have samsung sph-m520.

Initially, I paired the phone to my M without any issues. Transferred my phonebook. All was good.

Answered a call and the caller had trouble understanding me. My voice was cutting out and there were Echos.

First, I tried playing with the M's phone setting in terms of outgoing voice. I moved it up and down with no improvement.

Then I fiddled with my phone and noticed something. In the phone's bluetooth setting it was set on Headset. I changed it to Hands Free and gave that a shot. My friend said it sounded much better and there was no cutting in and out. I then adjusted the M's outgoing voice again this time setting the volume just below the midpoint. For me, that seemed like the best setting.

So for those of you with problems, take a look at the settings on your phone.

There is also a TSB out to fix this for '06 & 07s. Don't know about 08s

I had the TSB performed;It alows you on the phone settings screen now to select "technology" either GSM of CDM;It allows phone outgoing volume to also be selected right on this page

They move the mic to the above the drivers head into the headliner; its a large mic

The quality seems to have dropped, but I'm still messing with the settings;

The mic picks up way more background noise, adds some additional echo and a electrical whining noise is present in most of my calls now; I have to yet plan a return visit to the dealer;

They started using refurb kits for the repair recently; however I was able to secure a new kit as I ordered my replacement for this back in december, it was just about a month ago when al the parts to do the TSB arrived here in Canada.

so far, worse than before with the TSB appliedBut I will play with the settings some more and see if that helpstk

Treo's don't have the feature to switch between Headset and Handsfree (atleast as far as I know)

See thats why I havent had mine done....they ordered parts, dealer called to let me know they were in. But I have not done it yet....I've seen mixed reviews on true quality difference. I think it had more to do with the type of phone. My wife's phone "Sidekick Slide" sounds 10 times better than my motorola pebl. And plus I dont have major confidence in my local dealer to be cutting my headliner.

Samsung phones, for the most part, are NOT compatible with any vehicle Bluetooth systems. I am in the mobile industry and can tell you that most of the BT systems in cars are made by Motorola and therefore will work with best with Motorola phones (obviously) and also work fairly well with most other devices, except for Samsung. I have also hears that LG phones have problems connecting as well but LG phones on the whole are terrible (that's why VZ on carries them).

My Samsung seems perfectly fine with my 08' m35.
