SO, if anyone even remembers me at this point, I used to have a thread about why my car was running on only 4 cylinders. Here's the thread for anyone interested and having similar problems.

2-cylinders-not-firing-checked-everything-t518751.html

Well long story short, I did a compression test, pulled and serviced injectors, tested ECU, did everything under the sun to try and fix it and could not figure out the problem. Well, my FIRST GUESS was what the problem turned out to be. I replaced the entire main engine EFI harness, and voila, she's back on 6 cylinders. Albeit with a small rod bearing sound, but still, much better than running on four cylinders. SO there you have it.

Nextly, I know I have an exhaust leak from somewhere near the front of the motor, can't see if it's downpipe or turbo manifolds. When I am DECELERATING ONLY, I get some blue smoke that comes into the cockpit from right behind the head unit and from under the shift knob. I know the blue smoke is from burning oil so I don't need that diagnosed, my turbo seals are shot and I pinched a half moon seal in replacing the harness, so I have to address that later. But anyone have a guess on where the leak is coming from? It probably could be lethal to me

I had same problem, on deceleration only. We were figuring a bad turbo seal as well. I also blew my rings about 2 weeks later when my boost controller frigged up on me and there was a pile of smoke on deceleration then. If its just a little it's probably your turbo seals but that's just my experience, one of the more experienced guys on here might know more.

Edit: miss read the purpose of your post, this doesn't help you with your leak very much :chuckle:

I'd love to be able to say that right now. My car's been down two years now. Slowly getting back up to speed. Props for getting it done and sticking it out, will attempt to mimick your determination!

one question: can you provide some feedback of these (saw them in your mod list:)

2.5" Edge Racing Downpipes, 2.25" Turbo International Stainless Steel Resonated Test Pipes

Sure, I got them about 4 years ago because they were the cheapest on the market. Together with a single exit N1 exhaust, it is very quiet. Only when pushing 10psi do I really hear the exhaust, it is nice for cruising. I saw some nice gains, and would say its worth the money. I actually really recommend the single exit exhaust too. Really balances out torque and horsepower, really improved my off the line performance while not hindering my top end too much. Hope this answers your question.

yeah that works, thanks for the review.

Single exit huh? I've been looking into it, inconsistent reviews... not sure if i really want to do it, but if someone would trade straight up for my Apexi super megaphone system, i'd be glad to run it and see what it could do...just wouldnt be able to run a rear diffuser without it looking weird, or some bumper modifications. Anyway, props on getting your build done. I just need that kind of motivation right now lol.
