Just thought I would share a little success that might be helpful. 1992 240sx SE. I'm the orig. owner. 168,XXX miles.

Got home from work. Parked in the gargage and walking back up the driveway from the mailbox. Looked at the rear of my car and see the brake lights are ON!!! WTF.

I open the driver's side door to see my brake pedal...looked at the floor mat and see little broken pieces of rubber. I got the flashlight and looked up at the little switches which are triggered by the brake pedal. (there are two) I touch one and feel that it's hot. Then I see a hole where the rubber bumper used to be.

Luckily, I found a spare bolt and nut in my toolbox. My idea was to insert the bolt through the hole and have the head of the bolt act as the previous rubber bumper. It took about 1 hour and over a dozen tries of getting it in place. (requires pushing hard on the brake pedal to fit the bolt through a very small space.)

Once I got the bolt in, I threaded in a nut and locked it down. It worked. The brake lights operate normally and now I have a replacement for the crumbled rubber bumper.

The only info I don't have is the bolt size and length. Didn't measure it. Disclaimer: Attempt this repair at your own risk. I have no confirmation of this being safe or a lasting solution.
