This has been bugging the crap out of me this summer. My center rear view mirror gets really loose when the car gets hot. So every little bump i hit sends the mirror pointing down as far as it can go. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

i still have the same problem, but i bought a used rearview mirror from our classified forums. the only thing is, is that i can't take off my old rearview mirror to replace it with the one i bought! sooo hard!

I'll check for a screw after work, if not I guess I can try and grab one at the junkyard.

One day I don't remember how, well I do but can't say here, regardless of how a limb hit the mirror and it just poped off. It just snaps on and off so just give it a good pry and it'll pop right off. I thought It was broken but luckly my old gf had better since then me and snaped it back on.

LOL this thread is comedy. I have that same damn problem hahaha. If my car has been sitting in the hot sun for a while, right when I get it it's rattling like crazy when I drive. But after a little while it stops. I tried tightening the screw just behind the mirror and it stopped it for a while, and it just came back. I'll try tightening the screw at the top.

Could the shaky-rear-view-mirror-when-it's-hot be the new timing chain guide?

I'm having this same problem, I get in my car after classes and every time I go below 2000rpms, the mirror vibrates straight down. I then look up to see what's going on behind me and see my crotch.

Any tips on getting that mofo back on though??

Its a screw and spring do-hicky.

Every once in a while mine plops into my lap and im like wtf? you know? You have to tighten it all the way for it to stick.

Well, I went to tighten that screw and it turns out that it's missing from my mirror...

..oh ok, i accidentally dropped it into the friggin' mirror casing. damnit.

any idea what size, thread that screw is, or where i can get another mirror? (it's cracked anyhow)

thanks.
