Hey hey! So, I bought a 1997 240SX a few weeks ago. It's my fifth 240SX! I mean running cars, registered and road legal, not lawn ornament parts cars. Just wondering if there are many other members out there... had five or more 240's? Or maybe Z's, Max's, Pathy's, etc.?

My first car was almost a 240SX, but a co-worker talked me out of it saying Nissan's were expensive to repair ('cause it's an import). I took that terrible advice. Years later I got behind the wheel of a 1996 automatic. Loved it! Wrecked it with a freeway speed hydroplane and replaced it with a 1997 stick (manual from now on). Wrecked it drifting into curbs, got a 1993 hatch. Wrecked that when gravel tried to throw me off a cliff, a tree stopped me (saved my life) and bent the car, so I got a 1995. Wrecked that into the mountain side this time, going too fast again. Replaced it with my latest 1997.

It comes with the usual list of things to fix. I will say one thing. This is THE first 240SX I've owned where the key actually works everywhere, the ignition, the drivers door, the passenger door, the trunk and even the glove box!!! Here's how I got it... :dblthumb:

17 and no wrecks?! Awesome and a little odd! Are you a dealership? Dealerships don't count, just personal use. How many miles do you put on them? I get at least 100K out of each. Are you pullin' my leg? :)

Four is close, could've been five, but you bought that 'vette instead... Wise choice! ;)

I see another "Wrecked it" story in the making and its such a nice looking 240sx. You should care fore it a little better. Do it for the other 4 that went on to be remelted somewhere.

2 kept for personal use 10 years each, the others were buy it and fix it or buy it and SR swap it, then sell. Most were owned for more than 6 months though, and I did drive quite a few of them before selling. Started in (ready for this?) 1996 with my first S13 hatch. Lot's of fun!!!

I'm on the same page, I think... so is my wife. Being where I'm at in life, dying or being hospitalized are not allowed. This is my last chance to have a sports car, so I have to make it last. Three of the past four are out and about, too bent up for my liking, but fixable enough for others. The fourth one may be the same, but I still have it at home. It's the most bent up of them all though, so it might take a dirt-nap/ part-out instead. Basically, no wrecking it, keep it clean, live a full life, utilize local tracks and events, and take it to classic car shows when I'm a grandpa. I'm working on adjusting my driving 'perspective'. I look forward to giving it my best this time around! :dblthumb:

Well... the car flipping of 240SXs has crossed my mind for a job in the past, but I consider that business use, not personal use. 10 years is a solid run imho. I hope do as much and more with this particular car. How's your vert treating you and do you use a tonneau cover? Some one here was recently 3D printing replacement clips and has a thread about it. Plus some other guy on the east coast looking anywhere and everywhere for a used vert to buy. (got one in the yard?)
