Fitted my Spec Stage1 clutch. It's completely organic, not so far from stock. It engages very sharply - during about 1.5cm of pedal movement... What can be the reason? Was it fitted incorrectly, or what???? Can it be adjusted somehow? City driving is very hard... Almost stalled few times...

I have a 4 puck unsprung. I can drive it pretty well now, and Dee drives it flawlessly:) Takes awhile to adjust to it!

I feel like I have gotten the supposed-to-be-streetable organic clutch that engages more like 4-puck. I don't think it is right.

Great..... and I just bought a 4 puck too.

Vetal, make sure they bled your clutch correctly too. Although completely unneccessary, they may have taken the line off the clutch slave cylinder to remove the transmission. My S14 is WAY stiffer than both my S13's and the fastback just got a brand new OEM clutch installed.

They swear they didn't and it doesn't need bleeding... But could be a good idea to try to bleed it though :)

How do you guys bleed the clutch? I have to now( installed SS clutch line), and I can't get it properly blead. I am doing it according to the FSM, pumping the clutch, and opening the beader valve, and that worked once, but no longer, it doesn't get any firmer. any ideas?

If you haven't already, remove the @#(% clutch damper, that thing makes it impossible to bleed right. there's a howto of sorts at http://sr20.hybrids.jp/install....html, I did it and it helped somewhat, altho with a mostly dead clutch on my KA (starts slipping after ~30 min of normal driving, not pushing it or anything) it didn't make a huge difference, other than being able to actually bleed it.

edit: fixed link, thats what I get for letting it do auto URL

I removed the box already. btw, leave a space between puntuation and you links, It took me a minute to figure out where it was. lol. I'll try to do that. This thing should be reall stiff, SS line, and a Spec Stage 3 clutch.

Make sure you don't have any leaks in the line's. If you do, you will keep getting air back in and basically starting at square one every time.

Joe

Oh yeah.... that dampner box sucks.

You really shouldn't need them. Are you trying to do this by yourself by any chance?

The correct procedure as I know it is:

Pump clutch a few times and hold it downLoosen bleeder valve and wait for fluidTighten bleeder valveRepeat until firm +1 more for safety.Oh, and never let the resovoir get low.

is that how you're going about it?

I think (though I can't say for sure) that that's where your problem is.

Get a friend to come over and help you out, it will be a much simpler process :D

The pedal must be depressed when you open the valve or you're not doing anything. Unless you have speed bleeders (like me, yea!) , or a vaccumm bleeder (I've never gotten them to work right) it will take two people.

Well, I think I am goign to order 5 bleeders, one for each brake, and the clutch. I guess I got it to work the first time because there was no pressure, thus the pedal syaed donw the first time.

what size do the Nissans use? I am guessing the 10mm x 1.0, but that is a guess.
