I dont like the 18x7.5 +38's that came on my s14 when i bought it. I have a guy willing to trade for some 17x9 +26(i think) cobra wheels... I know it will clear z brakes but will they clear coilovers without a spacer? I need to make a decision tonight, so any personal experience would be appreciated.. thanks

You will most likely need a 5-8 mm spacer up front depending on the coilover brand.

the cobra wheels are only 12 mm further out...with the extra width you are still only looking at 1.5" more outbound wheel that the others...for an s14 that is pretty tame. With some 12mm spacers it would be flush. Try a 17x9 + 20 or less for nice fitment.

The wheels are going to be further than 12mm out. You need to calculate the widths as well. The old wheels are 7.5 inches wide, while the new ones are 9's.

The new wheels will be 7mm closer to the coilover, and 31mm closer to the fender as well.

Nico user Dammitboy recently had some 17x9+25 P45R's installed upfront on his Megan coilover equipped s13. They cleared the coilover by maybe 2-3mm.

S14 fitment should be similar, IMO. It'll be a tight fit, but I think you should not need to go any bigger that a 5mm slip-on spacer.

Oops, I didn't read the whole thing correctly. Either way, the OP should definitely make the trade.
