Hey guys, I have a s14 with megan streets. I wanna put on some 18x9.5 +15, or 17x9.5 +12 wheels. I will be running either of those sizes all the way around (no stagger or anything). This car is my DD, so I don't plan on slamming it, just looking for DECENT fitment...no tire stretching either, I'm going for the meaty look.

Now I've got 3 questions.

1) What kind of fender work am I looking at? I'm guessing roll in the front with the 18's?

2) I've heard that anything below +20 will rub with coils, is that true? So how do I get around that? Spacers?

3) What size tire should I run?

4) Will I need RUCAs or anything in the rear?

5) 17x9.5 +12 or 18x9.5 +15? Which one?

Thanks!

1) for the +15 on the 9.5 and +12, you will need to at least Roll your fenders. depending on tire size you may have to do a slight pull in the rear. Up front, you may have to do some inner fender work, to accommodate the wheel at full lock. but this usually depends on size tire+wheel

2) Depends on the coilover, to get around that, spacers

3) id recommend on the 9.5 a 245-255/ 35-40 or so but really depends on how low you want to go when it comes to tire sizing, as i saw you dont want to stretch much

4) Depends on how low you go, tire size and offset and how much you roll.pull the fenders.

5) 18x9.5 +15

Oh man, I didn't even think of that when I bought my wheels. I have a pretty crazy steering angle with the tie rod spacers. I guess we'll see what happens when I actually buy tires.

A good rule of thumb is that for the front with coilovers it will take a +20 or less to clear and will require a roll and a fair amout of pulling on the fenders for it to fit the sizes that you listed with a good amount of rubber(235/245) on them(a little extra camber won't hurt either). You also might have to do some hammering on the seams in the fender well so nothing rubs at full lock.

With the sizes you listed and keeping in mind that you want to maximize the ammount of rubber(no less then 255) it will take a roll and a healthy pull to make them fit.(once again some extra camber will help here also) If you were to run a higher offset in the rear, in the area of a +30 (+ or - 5) you could fit a 275 on the back with just a roll and a little pull.

9.5+15 will barely clear the megan coils. you'll be literally 1-3 mm away from your wheels hitting the coils but it works.

i had almost the same exact setup and ran a 235/45/ all around and it was flush. but if you dont go too low you wont have to stretch it like i did.

fender roll is a definate.

i'd suggest you should get toe arms to adjust your toe. cause when you lower the rear the toe and camber goes. the camber will help you clear the rear tires but the toe will eat them up.(learned the hard way)

Wouldn't That Poke Out More In The Front?

Ok guys, at this point I am leaning towards the 17x9.5 +12...if I run 255/45, is that going to be a good mix? Will those fit with just a fender roll? And I have to buy tie rods correct?

Main reason being I'd like to stay away from pulling at the moment.

Elbowblk, said they will clear the megans 1-3 mm away. Is that ok? Lol

+12 rear will require a pull, neg camber, or/and a combination of both with 255s

when lowering and going with a heavier/bigger wheel+tire setup its always good to do tierods.

i had 19x9s up front on my car for several months with the coils bottomed out and my stock tierods are showing wear.

so you could get away with stock tierods for a while(depending on current shape), but eventually you'll have to replace them.

1-3mm away is ok as long as the tire doesn't hit.the way the coilover+wheel on teh spindle is a fixed position. as long as you have 3-5mm of clearance you'll be fine.( you wont know this until you try so count on buying 5mm slip on spacers( and hubcentric rings if you can with the slip on spacers)

With the wheel/tire sizes you posted there is no way around having to do some pulling on the fenders, unless you don't mind running retarded amounts of neg camber.

Ok I guess pulling it is lol I'll go with the 18's in that case.
