some photos of my dry fit, showing clearances without skins.

the rims are 9" across (just a hair over), looking at section widths between 9.3 and 9.8.

Nice shots Jay. Front looks a little close to the fender, but hard to tell since the suspension is not loaded.

Side note: When were the seat controls moved to the side on the G35 sedan? Haven't looked at any of the updated ones (post 2004?).

Yeah.. there is probbaly some positive camber when the car is completely unloaded.. They should fit great.

Jay, Those are the FX35 ones, right? They look good. I've only seen the 20s from the FX on the Y33. I can't wait to see them on the G50 with some tires. You got'em on ebay, huh?

thanks, Keith for fixing the links.

D- yup, my favorite shopping place..... $450 delivered to my door.

i'm still a bit leery of 18s vs. 17's, but i really like the pseudoasymmetry of 7 vs. 8 spoke (i bid on some 7.5X17 8 spoke 2005Q rims, but they bid up too high....)

still all over the map on tires...245/45 too tall, 235/45 may look stretched, 245/40 may be too harsh, 255/40 may rub (yes i know they are spec'd to 8.5 min, but at least one respected member here has them on 7.5's).

and Brian--i believe all G35 have the inboard hip bolster seat controls, even the 2006 6mt coupe that my brother just bought--the side mount dealies are (were) the memory for the seat.

If you are not 8.5"wide, the 245/45-18 is your best fitment. Very slightly tall, but better than being short.

I have 245/45/18 on Lola, and they look great, ride WAY better than the 245/40/18 that I had on before.

A big plus is that these are Mustang sizes, so everybody makes that size.

Try to stay away from directional treads, because they tend to gedt noisy later in life.

Jeff, which 245/40's did you have? I have SportContact2's (245/40/18) on the front of my lowered Q and they're not too harsh at all. What width wheel were you running them on at the time? I'm squeeziung mine a bit (with a 7.5 width) and that may help soften the feel??

So true. I treat all my tires as directional anyway in terms of rotations and flipping. I think my wife's PS 2 are directional and asymmetric.
