Fit in single car garage?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hello, prospective EX purchaser here.

This is probably a somewhat odd question, but does anyone have experience parking the EX in a single car garage? I'm considering buying it, but I'm worried the EX won't fit in my tiny garage. Looking purely at the dimensions, I think it will, though I don't know the practicality of it. I currently drive a Mini Cooper, so parking is a breeze -- the EX is a beast in comparison!

Thanks!

While you're waiting for someone to answer...

In Black, the EX35... and in Red, the Mini Cooper.

Length 182.3 inches/4631 mm 146.2 inches/3714 mm

Width 71.0 inches/1803 mm 66.6 inches/1693mm

62.6 inches/1589 (with roof rails) 55.4 inches/1407mm

Not much difference in Width...

See how this measures with your Garage and how much room it leaves on either side.

We park ours in a 3-Car Garage.

Good luck in your purchase... and welcome aboard.

Hopefully, you don't live too far from a dealer, and if not, bring it home during your test drive!

Go test drive the EX, tell the dealer you'll have to drive the car back home to make sure it'll fint into your garage. They shouldn't give you any problems. Good luck.

Thanks for the help everyone. I measured my garage and like I thought, it'll technically fit. It'll be tight though. There is an Infiniti dealership just a few miles from me, so test driving it home might be an option -- though I'm not sure the salesperson will be too thrilled about notion of me trying to fit their new car into a tiny garage. It's worth a shot though!

I saw the dimensions on Edmunds, but I wasn't sure if that's the wheels or mirror to mirror, which seems like the widest part of the car? ? Also, do the mirrors easily fold in? I thought I saw a power-fold option, which would help a lot, though I'm not sure now.

The length is the greater concern -- the EX35 is 3 feet longer, which is sort of insane to think about. But, my girlfriend was able to get her Jetta into my garage a few times, and that's 179", so it should work. I guess my perspective is way off having driven the Mini fo so long.

Thanks again!

Ours fits easily in our one car garage. The previous Honda Pilot we had was a little tighter but still fit. I would assume that you will have plenty of room to be honest.

If you end up getting it, congrats! I don't think you'll regret the purchase.

You shouldn't have a problem fitting in a one-car garage. I have a very narrow single-car opening for a garage that is 1/2 story below grade (so I also have retaining walls on each side of the driveway) and have no problem getting in the garage. However, I always use the around-view-monitor to assist with getting through the doorway; the proximity sensors and the 360-degree view are a great help for maneuvering into a tight space. I haven't needed to fold in the mirrors, though they do fold quite easily, though not electrically.

Thanks everyone for the information. It's comforting to know that I won't have to be too nervous each time I go to park. Also, I forgot about the 360 view -- that'll be invaluable, I'm sure.

I'm planning on going on some test drives this weekend, so this is all pretty exciting!
