Welcome! You might as well just buy the FSM, as Chilton's isn't very useful and anything you pick up at Pep Boys or what not isn't going to help you any either. As far as exhausts, Apexi is generally considered very good for the money, and for our cars. Either the Apexi N1 catback or the Apexi N1 Dual catback. If you don't plan on going SR20 for at least a year, you may or may not want the full 3 inch piping, you may wish to get the 2.5 instead. 2.5 is more than sufficient even with a SR20, but if you decide to upgrade the engine you'll need a bigger exhaust. Fortunately, they generally hold a decent amount of resale value. : ) Good Luck with everything and welcome to the community! : )

Remeber in some ways the N1 dual look pretty ugly, BUT they increase power through the mid and high rang of the power while the normal N1 only increases it in the high range. Like I said to the last person get the larger piping if you can deal with the slight power loss for a year, and when you get you turbo it will be more suited for it.

Will the Apexi dual exhaust (with 2.5'? the come in that diameter?:eek) be more than enough for a CA18?

oh yeah implicit, welcome to the board. :dunce

Yes, the 2.5 inch will work, and both exhausts come in 2.5 and 3 inch. You have to flow a lot of power before you need 3 inch, like 300+, and even then, the 2.5 inch will work. : )

Also, freak, I prefer the look of the N1 dual. : ) Maybe its just me though, I don't like the big coffee can, I prefer the two tips.

Mr. Mod. I believe the application for the Apexi N1 for the 240sx is 80mm...is that correct? Is 80mm bigger or smaller than 3".....

I dont think they are that ugly its just when you look at it from the side it changes colour and metal which kinda makes it look non-uniform. With the other versions they are chrome or at least the metal is the same for the entire muffler and tip part. I think that looks better, when it's a uniform metal it looks better to me. Dont get me wrong I love my N1 duals, because were talking power here. N1 dual are the best out of all 3 for any NA vehicle.. or 240sx at least. :squint

You like the Apexi dual too? I'm with ya. I like the look of dual exhaust tips, and since our cars came with them, then i say "why not?"

the apexi dual looks a little off to me, but the Bee*R dual is so suweeet! :D

Dude.. did it work when you bought the car?Sometimes people cut the wire that counts the amount miles your car has on it. A side effect of cutting that wire is that speedo and sometime the tach wont work. I would check that out... Next time you go driving check your mile counter, make sure it moves cuz if i dont, you car may have a few more miles on it then the counter says.. scamming bastards :squint

Ya it moves. The tac works... its just the speedometer... it did work... but then it acted up .. liek it said iw as doin 90 when i was goin 45... then it just died... so i think a cable cam lose or something..

The previous owner may have futzed with the speedo cable to get around the speed limiter. If the car doesn't know how fast you are going, it can't stop you from going past 115mph, but you don't know how fast you're going either :D

Well... if your in 5th gear and breaking redline... that usually means your going pretty fast....

If you find a dog or cat in your intake.. thats pretty fast...

If you find Gary Colman in your trunk thats just sick and twisted...

running with a cracked exhaust manifold isnt the safest thing in the world to do!

:firehead is what you may look like if you have any oil leaks or fuel, when a flame shoots out your exhaust manifold, and ignights....danger danger

Your car has headers...get new headers. (as opposed to being called an exhaust manifold)

Yeah you have the KA24E, its a single cam 12 valve. You could turbo it, but just like any car if you don't prep it right you will blow it if you run to high of a boost. :bshake :alcoholic :beerchug :bandit :dogpile :chicken

hehe, look at the smilies, hehe

With a S13 you might as well just swap in a S13 SR of some kind, and spend the extra grand on a front mount or something. : ) Also, you can turbo the SOHC, I'm not sure who makes a manifold though, but I'm sure someone is by now. If not, I will be in a month. : ) Good Luck!
