fished for hour still no answer

so im 95% sure my ps pump is going out. i keep seeing articles on how to remove and replace. but my question is if i take out ill be fine right??? i can take the pump out and not replace it right? i know it sounds we tod id but im just not sure on the situation. i know hella people that dont have ps pumps but will i need to do any modifications to the rack and pinion???

youll be fine, but over time your rack may get a little sloppy and if you ever want to put the pump back on it may leak due to extended use without fluid going through it. A hint on preserving your rack would be to plug the ports on the rack when you remove your lines to your pump so the fluid thats left in the rack cant leak out.
