Last night I became a proud new owner of my very first Z car. My previous car (E36 BMW 328i) caught on fire while I was hours from home so it was time to go car shopping again. I had my heart set on an E46 M3 but just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much money on a car that I know I would be dumping most my pay check into just in maintenance costs. I have always had a thing for Nissans and the Z cars ever since I drove my friends 300zx n/a about 5 years ago. So when I saw this 350 for sale online just a few miles from my house I had to go test drive it. Where I live its mostly farm country and long straight road with ridiculously slow speed limits (you know the kind of roads the Z was made for…..). After it got warmed up I gave it WOT and was impressed by the feel and sound. It’s a quick car for sure but not a whole lot faster in a straight line then the BMW I had been driving. Well after a few miles I finally got to some ok twisties. There, my friends, is where I feel deeply in love with this car. This car is on RAILS!!!! I got the money together and took it home a few days later. I spent all night in the one are that has some fun winding roads. I had learned to handle my Bimmer real well and this Z humbled me very quickly. I have a lot of learning to do all over again and can not wait to take it to a track.

Cheers to all you Z lovers out there! I can’t wait to get to know this car much better!

Geeze, it seems like you've had bad luck with your previous cars.

Good luck with this one though and welcome

Thanks for the very warm welcome everyone. I need to go on a road trip very soon. It's impossible to work when i know i could be out driving. I live in northern Indiana and plan on heading south to Bloomington (Girlfriend goes to IU) soon. 45 and 46 are very fun to drive. If anyone knows of a good spot to head around the mid west, please let me know!

46 around nashville is a blast, unfortunatly, its also pretty heavily conjested around the times im on it. plus, its moderatly screwed up with construction currently. im straight east of bloomington in columbus. take 46 to 67 & on in toward knox co. (where im from) fairly often.

should you happen to see a sunset orange in that area, theres about a 1 in 2 chance its this guy.

autocad tech huh? im a pro/e user myself.

I was actually going to suggest Brown Co. If things haven't changed much since I left B'town then 45 & 46 are still crawling with police, it may be better in the off-season though.

I just may have to head up there for "leaf season".

Brown County is amazing. There are a ton of back roads you can pull off on and find some incredible places to hike. Once fall comes and school starts back up it does get really busy there.

Sorry it took so long to get pics up. I went to Bloomington over the weekend to visit my gf and we took a drive in brown county. She happens to be a photo major so she took a few nice pics for me.
