Ended up missing the new emerald-mist by one day , someone bought it from under me . Could not find anything here on the island with premium and my color choices .Found my car in N.J. at the same dealer my father-in-law got his 92Q ( which he still has ). 26Kmi. diamond graphite , premium etc. car was originally bought from same dealer , and serviced there . Paid $33.5K , including factory extended warranty , 30Kmi service , new brakes all around . Car definitely has all highway miles , the Michellins only about 20% worn . Also the old brake pads were maybe 50% worn . Car is like brand new. This M is way faster then any other M I test drove . This engine must be fully broken in by now . The sales manager said the same thing . They had 2 more slightly used M's , and he thought mine felt faster .This car has some odd things , compared to my 91Q , which I was not aware of :The radiator fan is driven by hydraulic motor ??? with a seperate reservour . This reservour and also the one for the power steering are under the engine top cover , so you can not check fluid levels without taking off the big cover . Plugs are now easy to access and change . My service manager said only 1 hour labor to change them now .The engine warms up super quick in the morning , which get the cabin nice and toasty after only 1 mile . The 91Q takes over 2 miles , my wife's pathfinder takes 1.5 miles under same conditions.Cooled front seats that come with the premium package have their own air filter under the seat. Needs to be replaced every 30Kmi. The seats are some of the most comfortable I have ever experienced .The whole car is very , very impressive .

Yidal,

Please let us know if you ever make it to a track. If you do, pllease run it under good conditions ( or if bad like hi temp etc post those as well) and let us know the results.

I always wondered if a fully broken in, M45 can break into the high 13's, mags test 'em in the mid 14's but hose are never fully broken in cars.(The new GTO does 13.9/14.0 in quarter)

Fred...:)

Congratulations, Yidal! And welcome to the M owners group. We are a small but growing community here! :D

I am still very pleased with my car - after about 3500 miles, it just feels stronger than ever!

My father just bought a 2003 Q45 last month. I am 27 but not too old to enjoy a juvenile display of testosterone. First of all it's light years beyond my 97 I30 in terms of everything. But some of the best gratification is the first time you pull up to the light next to a late model Mustang GT. Turn off the VDC and you'll have no problem showing them your tail lights. Off the line things are close, but once you get your speed up, there is no competition, and it's so gratifying to embarass the guy in front of his buddies or girlfriend.

How much did that go for??? I'm curious what used M's are going for considering that the new ones didn't exactly blow out.

I have seen a few, with the Tech package, around $30K. The one I wanted, AZhitman had on the lot, and it was sweet.

Yeah..... Rub it in.... :D

IMO, no matter how nice they are, they will NEVER compare to the first generation Q...

I have heard complaints about how the rear seat is a joke.... True???
