so, i've had my hid kit for a while, but never had the time to install them. i decided that winter break was as good as any time to try. i took the bumper off, made all of the proper connections, and was very delighted to see that the install was fairly easy. but, the lights did not work. i bought the 35w 6000k kit from ddm. all the connections were put the only way that they could. and they weren't working. what's wrong?!

i remember reading that someone had to cut one of the plastic pieces, but i don't know which one, and if it is for this kit.

ddm likes to do this thing where they reverse the wiring on the plug that connects to your factory harness. what you want to do is pull out the wires and swap them. there's a small release tab inside of the plug which allows you to pull the wire out, kinda hard to explain. here's a pic to show what you can do. either A) pull back the retaining tabs so that you can pull out the wiring and switch them, or B) shave off that plastic nub that prevents you from plugging in the plug the other way.

of course, first check to see if this is the issue, if your black wires don't match up with your kit and factory harness, then you know this is the issue.

I had the same problem but didn't know about switching the wires or how much of a pain it would be.

I wound up just jamming the connector in backwards and they fired up perfectly. The only problems after about 6months-1 year is that the passenger side ballast fell off because I didn't clean the surface where I put the tape.

no problem dude, i remember how frustrated i was when this happened to me. after reading how easy they were to "plug and play" and not being able to do it, i felt like a complete moron not realising that it was my kit that had reversed wiring.
