i am pretty new to playing with Nissan's, but what i would like to do is a rb25 swap into a 91 hardbody pickup. i don't know if any of u would know exactly was all this entails but any tips or information would be helpful. As the truck comes oem, it has a sohc ka24, auto trans, and solid rear axle. I don't imagine the over all set up in the truck is too different from the 240s. so what I'm wanting to know, if know one knows about doing it to a truck, what all has to be done to do it to a 240? how well is the fit? does fire wall need to be cut? engine mounts line up? does a custom drive shaft have to be make? how much of the stock components can be used from the ka set up such as stock radiator and such? thanks for the help guys...

Let me be the first to welcome you to our little corner of the World Wide Web.

NICO is a great place with lots of information to be found, tech articles, members that will go above and beyond what is asked of them and network of individuals with more knowledge floating around in their heads than you would probably want to know.

As for your question, I am not sure if anyone on here has swapped an RB into a hardbody, but you asked for info on the 240SX swaps as a reference.

Check here to see what is needed to get an RB into an S13 or an S14.

Again, welcome aboard.

The hardest part of your swap will be setting the motor in the engine bay and building the mounts to the motor. Can you fabricate/ do you know someone that is handy with a welder? Yes the drive shaft will be custom.

If the world of motor swapping is still pretty new you might want to consider a SR20--they swap in fairly easy(I have seen a couple) and provide great power.

Welcome again!

Hey,Welcome.

The RB does fit in the Hardbody truck.I've seen one at Nopi Nat's a couple years back.I don't think the firewall was cut, just banged in a little.I'm not sure but I believe he said it was pretty much the same as the S13.

I think he's also on Cardomain.Take a look, you might be able to find him.
