Greetings everyone!
My name is Dale and the wife is Lisa. We just bought our first Nissan today! It's a Versa Base 1.6 sedan. It is missing a few amenities which I plan on adding as I can (like power locks, power windows, power mirrors, and a factory head unit), which I have a few questions on. Sorry... no pictures yet. We only got home after dark, and the wife is going to have it at work all week. We kinda bought it for her as our 1997 Plymouth Voyager minivan was costing us $55US every week and a half to two weeks. Now I get the van, but that's OK. I don't go anywhere most of the time as I am on disability.
Anyhow... I think we got a great deal on the car. It's a 2009, and only had 13,650 miles on it. We paid $10,465US! What do you all think? We actually almost didn't get it. When our sales guy went for the keys he found out another sales person had them with a customer, a woman and her son. I guess it wasn't sporty enough for the kid (or had enough bells and whistles), as when we returned from our short but sweet test drive they were still talking with the sales rep. We hurried into the showroom and started paperwork before they changed their minds. Had to laugh when MY son saw the car (and rode in it)... he started thinking he's gonna get to drive it real soon! We just started limited traffic driving with him on his learners permit. Fat chance!
Anyone have suggestions for installing the upgrades I would like to do? I'm going off of the presumption that all of the basic wiring for everything will be there as it is easier to install when the car is being built so they can install any upgrades at the dealership that the customer wants added easier (and quicker). I hope I am presuming correctly. The plan is to start calling junk yards for parts when we are ready to start.
Glad I found the forums! Already downloaded the service manual!
