I bought my first truck earlier today. I'm more of a car guy, but I needed something to haul my "racecar" (I use that term loosely, ha ha) around to events, as I'm about to make it a lot less streetable. I've always wanted a truck, but never had a chance to pick one up until now. Anyways, I bought a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4x4 with a 6.0 down in Tucson, AZ. It's pretty high mileage (211k), but I snagged it for an "OK" price. Everything works so far and the interior is pretty clean, which was what sold me on it (I hate nasty interiors). Haven't had a chance to snap any pics of it myself yet, but here are the pictures from the CL ad I snagged before it was taken down.

Paint is sort of crap, and it has a nasty oil leak and needs a little love in the brakes and suspension area it seems. Nothing crazy though. Also has an exhaust leak on the passenger side, ha ha. I wasn't expecting a perfect truck at all, but it's pretty decent overall. I plan on cleaning it up as best as I can and make it a nice hauler. Probably do what I can to put down a little more power as well, because I can't leave anything alone (ask the wife... ha!). Anyways, that's about it!

Love the Sierra! If the Frontier ever lays down, it will be my first choice for a replacement. Hope the repairs aren't a big PITA.

Wow! For a vehicle of that age with that many miles, it looks incredibly clean. Any rust issues?

Lol, back from the dead! The truck has been good to me for sure. No rust issues. Only things that have needed to be done (besides a rear main leak that I have yet to do) is a water pump job, AC overhaul, and knock sensor replacement/intake mani gasket. I am getting close to selling though, since I already bought a replacement truck in the form of an '06 Duramax.

I think sooner or later rust will appear, I have an Opel and it rusts terribly before our eyes. Sometimes it seemed to me that I could hear how it was rusting) I decided to restore it and turned to a familiar locksmith, he advised me to process the rusty places and apply a remedy https://www.rustbullet.com/ as i did. I don’t know yet, then it’s clear what kind of tool it is, at least I trust him, I think he will not advise bad.
