First time driver (sorta)

I've come across a problem yet again and require someones opinion on it.

I've been searching for a 240 (95-98) 5spd for quite sometime now without any luck, all of them seem to be either out of my price range or too far for me to go look at. The only ones I keep running into are automatics, so I figured i'd just buy one of those.

But here's the problem I've driven a manual car 3 or 4 times in my whole life (with decent results lol) and was planning on learning more with the 5spd before I did an SR swap into it. Now if I went through with the swap in an automatic would it be that much more difficult for me to learn with the SR because it's turbo and what not or would this not matter?

And just out of curiousity when they put in the clutch on the auto to manual swaps do they custom fit it to the driver?
