I am changing my front rotors and brake pads on my 08 M45x for the first time and I dont know the torque specs for the caliper bolts and the wheel lug nuts. Can anyone tell me what they are or point me to the correct post where this is located at.

Greatly appreciate!

Thanks

Hello, welcome to the forum.

I have no idea what the correct torque specs are as I have never referenced them, but they can be found in the brake section of the service manual, link in the signature below:

Honestly, I've never used the torque specs for ANYTHING. Even when doing engine work like spark plugs, etc. I dunno, I just feel it lol. So far so good in 15 years that I've been driving.

From the '06 M45 Service Manual which is probably not too far off from the '08 (just need to follow links for your year's service manual in Ilya's sig)

Wheel Nut Torque specs: 112.6 N-m (11 kg-m, 83 ft-lb) from Maintenance Section: MA

Torque Member mounting bolt (caliper bolt) Front, Torque specs: 132.5 N-m (14 kg-m, 98 ft-lb) & Rear, Torque specs: 84.3 N-m (8.6 kg-m, 62 ft-lb) from Brake System Section: BR

Funny, I just make sure they're tight. :chuckle:

Welcome to the forum DrZark

You are very much on the right track asking about torque values in critical applications.

Wheel lug nuts especially!

Many folks have experienced rotor warpage, and have blamed it on cheap Infiniti rotors, when in fact it was overtightened lug nuts!

Using a torque wrench on your wheels prevents warped rotors. You will be surprised how much mileage you get from rotors that are applied to properly torqued wheels!

Take the time to research how to properly bed in new rotors to brake pads, and you are set to go!
Do not forget, after driving several miles, re-torque the wheels again as outlined in owners manual.

I did forget to mention my wheels are after market. They are Enkei Raijin wheels so would the same torque specs for the stock wheels apply?

Also Thanks for the greetings EdBwoy and steve_c

As long as you're using OEM lugs/ studs, I would use to OEM specs.
*Caveat.
How large, wide and heavy are your wheels?

Btw, when we hear aftermarket, we crave pictures.

They are 18x8 Enkei Tuning Raijin and they weigh 20 pounds each.

Everything was done, easy job. Now I need to look for a brake system upgrade to six piston caliper on front and 4 rear.
