Well tonight was fun. I just went to see what the car will do stock and watch mostly. I made three runs, in 100% humidity, 75ish degrees. The coolest part of the whole night was that I did a burnout! (hey, its a big deal for me coming from the AWD world ;)) ..even if it was only one wheel spinning..

Car:1998 base model. 100% Totally stock, 70,300 miles. Open diff, automatic.

Best run:

R/T: .82860': 2.73 (ouch) Spinning off the line.1/8: 11.164MPH: 64.621/4: 17.244MPH: 80.98

Lesson learned: These cars are definitely not performers in stock form. :blah: Especially when mated to an Auto transmission. Now I need to hurry and get a job so I can finish my Talon. That way I can focus on the 240. :) I kind of miss my talon when it was stockish...an air filter and 12psi netted a 13.8. Oh well. Anything can be modded!

And by the way, what is the deal with spark plugs costing $10 a piece?!? They are $1.35 for my Talon. Yikes. No wonder the 240 was canceled :rolleyes (just kidding!)

YAY, another DSM'er on here, I was starting to feel like a minority for a while there. RWD is to prostitute as AWD is to meaningful girlfriend; it's fun to play with every once in a while, but for all cost-effective purposes, you're gonna want the girlfriend.

one of my cousins had a 95 GSX.

it was the best at getting traction.

it was the best at the twisties

it was the best at breaking down.

AWD is great, but can be a pain, it adds weight, reduces efficiency, and makes for an expensive transmission.

i really like GSX's, but i would prefer a different awd turbo car, GT4, too bad the 6th gen wasnt brought here.

until i am able to import a GT4, my 240 gets enough traction, way more than my 97 celica

I had a 96 gst, pretty damn quick but I had a hell of a time hooking up at 15psi. but she's gone now, and I miss her sometimes, but my 240 can give it to me sideways, and is always ready to hook up!:D
