After doing some tweaking on my car last night I decided to go for a test drive. So I'm goin down a country road and am about to turn right and I see a cop comming the opposite direction, and freak out cz there's no place to turn in anywhere or anything! I already had put my blinker on to turn right so I couldn't just keep going past him. So I see him pull into the turn lane lookin at me and follow me as I turned and BAM, Lights on! so here I am, both expired stickers and no insurance. He was a pretty decent guy it was a deputy sherriff. Said he pulled me over for no front plate and totlally forgot about that when I didn't have insurance! I was crapping my pants cz if you get get caught in texas without proof they impound your car! I was pretty close to home so he let me go with a citation (no proof of insurance) and orders to go immedeatly home (lol)
I stll haven't told my parents yet and don't know how to! I'm on their insurance policy but my car isn't... Also I've had my car 2 years and haven't transferred the title yet. I've had no money to. I have court sep. 9th. What should I do? In regards to breaking this to my parents? Anyone have stories like this? :)

Man that sucks, good thing he let ya go though and not got your car impounded. How much was your ticket? Cuz up here in Illinois with no plates or registration is 120 bones. Which was what happend to me. I bought my car saturday and drove it to work and class and then to home till about monday evening goin to class. Damn police pulled me over and I had my title and insurance and license out and ready to show i just bought it. He still gave me a ticket eventho the dmv arent open till tuesday. Sucked so bad lol

Well sorry to hear that bro! But use the oldest trick in the book, the good news and news one lol! I got a ticket too but it was $89 bucks cause I didn't have my front license plate on the bumper, had it sitting in the front windshield! But I got pulled over for none working rear license plate bulbs lol! So I didn't have to worry about telling them and I didn't get no points or anything either :D gl though!

You should have contested that in court.

Well were you going 220mph? Haha but seriously what were you in? Thats pretty gnarly. The fast part is, not so much the almost ticket.

To the OP, i assume you live with your parents, which is the only reason you care what they think about a traffic violation.. just try and hide it...lol, its not like you got a DUI..

The only reason I was worried about my parents is cause they kept telling me not to drive my car until it was legal, and also I wasn't suppoesed to be out at that time.. Hell, like I care! Anyway I went ahead and told them about it, I'm getting my title transferred tomorrow and registered, also, had mom call our insurance and it's only gonna be $10 extra a month to add my car on there. So that puts me at like $110 a month. But at least I'm getting my car all legal now! Which is what I wanted anyways.. lol

But I still gotta go to court and find out how much my ticket is... Ughhh

Got quoted $160 a month when I got the car in 2001. That was with a few tickets but took DD. I eventually got on my Mom's policy and got it down to 130/month. For a single cam KA 240 good record overall... Go figure. :squint: When I turned 25 insurance was like $80.

Get old it will eventually go down. ;)

Never hide anything from your parents. They'll find out eventually, and when they do, they're gana be more pissed then if you just told em from the get go.

I'm 20 quite a few past tickets only 2 since i turned 18 however one minor speeding and a reckless driving and one wreck

I would have fought it but i had two court court dates one the 17th one the 18....Both were b/s but i fought the one that like 750$ in tickets a 65 in a 50 and a littering for two ciggerete butts thrown out the window.

Funny part was my speedometer doesnt work and i've never had a speeding ticket or even got pulled over the 6 months i've driven without it...on the way to work not using my gps..(its a 5 minute drive there is no point) I was using a ford turbo diesel to gauge my speed off of. Making sure every few seconds that the gap between us never changed. which it didnt, for a good mile, next thing i know this truck is flashing blue lights turns out it was the police :wtf2:

Needless to say i went to fight it and the officer admitted three times before i had to make my plea he was speeding also. told the judge i was using him to gauge my speed and my speedometer is broken. so now all i have to do is take a written form from a mechanic saying that my speedometer is broken on the 15th and it will be droped.
he busted out laughing at the littering ticket and didnt even make me plea he said he didnt care about it.

A few days ago I was doing 70 in a 45. I do this everyday, but that one day was special.

I pass a few cars, and I eventually get up next to an inconspicuous golden Crown Vic. They were going at least 68 if not 69 because it took forever to get next to them and I was only going marginally faster. Well after a couple minutes when my car started to edge out past them they flashed their lights . Total cop.

Funny thing is, is I immediately let off the accelerator, partly because police, partly because the speed limit dropped to 35. They of course maintained there speed :gapteeth:. Everyone speeds through there though.

If yall think $130ish for insurance is bad just wait until you get on your own and you're paying that, then gas, rent, power, water, trash, cable, food, etc. Fix your car up now because when all the bills need to be paid there won't be much left over. I love my 240 but I wish to god I had a honda because $50 a week in gas just to get to work is getting old.

God I love driving a 240 even tho it's like a pig magent with full open exhaust even thi the other day I got pulled over for not where a seat when I had it on and I have auto seat belts needless to say that rookie cop that was on a training exercise is now onw smart mofo bc of me. Yeh i was going to say age is a big factor.

My 4 door 1988 Civic that I drove when i was 18 cost around $125 a month, liability no tickets

now at 25, liability for my 240 as like $25, amazing how much that drops.

Went to court today and it was dismissed because we added my car to our policy that was active since July so my car was 'covered' at the time of stop! :) ha suckers! And I got my plates so I'm all legal minus smog check.
