I am now the proud (3rd) owner of a 94 Q45t. I love it and I'm having a good time with it as my daily driver. Besides adding a external transmission cooler what should I do to take advantage of the potential of this awesome engine? I tried getting a hold of wes to see if he had a ecu I could put in it to unleash an extra 40 hp but haven't heard back yet. I would also like to put in bigger injectors and possibly nitrous in the future. What would you guys do? Thanks. Jared

:welcome: to NICO! The NICO ECU is probably the easiest thing beyond the general maintenance and repair that would bring the car back to it's factory new specs.
Others will have more ideas than I'm getting at the moment...

Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to upgrading the car. How do I get a NICO ecu?

My new 96 is fast the way it is :) I got on it this morning, windows down, wife home, stereo cranked up. I had a blast! For some reason it seems way faster than my garage queen 96 and 94 daily driver.

Did I ever respond to your email? If not hit me up again, occasionally I miss emails...

There's really not a lot of easy mods for the Q, besides the ECU. If you really want to go fast the next cheapest thing is gonna be nitrous, but that's not without it's own set of problems/challenges.

That's cool PetersQs. My 94 is by far the fastest and best car I have ever owned but I think the TCS and slip light being on might be holding back the power a little bit. (I thought I saw that a post here somewhere.) I have the relays that are under the battery tray coming as well as a new rebuilt Hitachi alternator. (The one in it tested bad at Autozone) While I have all that out I'm installing a transmission cooler that was recommended by someone on this site. I'm also going to get rid of that high dollar inline transmission filter and just put a magnafine upstream of the cooler.

You did get back to me elwesso. Thank you. We talked about a new ECU for my car. I'm still thinking about it. I might just get the Stage II/Stage III. The one with 4 settings is just a little too much for me now that I'm getting all this other stuff done. If you have one ready to go let me know and I'll Paypall you the cash ASAP. It sounds like too good of a upgrade to pass up.

For what it's worth if I was gonna buy an ECU for my car, I would buy the stage II/Stage III combo... Also, for what it's worth, I think my ECU upgrade is the cheapest ECU upgrade for any make/model..

TURBO! Years ago there was a guy on here (or possibly another forum) who removed the suitcase muffler from his '94 and installed a turbo. There was a lot of plumbing involved, but it was a rocket as I recall. To keep a stock look he hid the BOV in one of the factory exhaust tips and used the other tip for the actual exhaust.

It is funny how an older car like these can vary greatly in how much power they have left. My old 84' 300ZX which doesn't have much power in comparison to modern cars still has a little bit in the tank, my mechanic tells me that most of the ones he still services/keeps limping are toasted. 92' Q45 was by far the fastest Q I ever drove, although the 02' I drove didn't have the issues resolved with it.

First things, like others said, get it back up to OEM specs and service everything, then figure out next steps. ECU is a no brainer, go for it.
